Summer 2022

What do young people feel, dream, fear and wish for? What are their hopes, if any? Instead of listening to their answers, we are interested in questions they have in mind. We have asked five teenagers to write a letter to themselves which they will open on their 60th birthday.

From these letters, we learn not only about young people’s plans but also about their current fears. They wonder if pandas will still exist, if they will manage to start a family, if they will be accepted as transgender. They also movingly share their fears about the planet and their own mental health.

The project was commissioned by the prestigious Sacrum Profanum music festival. 
 The film work was the result of previously conducting body work workshops with them, led by specialist Agata Bargiel, whom I invited to the project. The film was shown several times before the festival’s most important concerts and resonated widely, providing the audience with many emotional moments.
